In the coming years, the Säntis-Schwebebahn intends to replace the existing, almost 50-year-old cable car with a new cable car based on the latest cable car technology.
The valley station on the Schwägalp will continue to be used. The mountain station will be installed in the building 26 meters to the left and on the route there is only one cable car support designed as a «V support».
Die Säntis-Schwebebahn beabsichtigt die bestehende, bald 50-jährige Pendelbahn, durch eine neue, auf modernster Seilbahntechnik basierenden Schwebebahn, zu ersetzen.
Die Schwebebahn bleibt regulär bis Ende April 2026 in Betrieb. Danach gibt es für den Bau der neuen Bahn einen Betriebsunterbruch.
