First Schwägalp-Swiss wrestling
On August 6, 1950, 120 Schwinger (wrestler) from the cantons of Zurich, Thurgau and the two Appenzell competed on the fi rst «Schwägalp-Schwinget» on Schwägalp. 1000 seats were available for the visitors. They were offered insights into alpine life enriched with yodelling performances, folk music, flag throwing, stone putting, alphorn blowing and dances of performers in traditional costumes.
