The devastating year of avalanches
In the afternoon of January 11, 2019, at 4.30 p.m., an avalanche buried the entire area in front of the hotel and penetrated into the entrance and restaurant. Fortunately, no humans were seriously injured. A second avalanche damaged the fi rst support for the cable car which led to a suspension of operation that lasted around four months.
