Säntis- the hotel is non-smoking.  For smokers, our «Backseckelstobe» (smoking lounge) is located on the gallery floor.
If smoking takes place in the room, we will charge you a lump sum of CHF 150.00.

Cigarettes are for sale in our souvenirshops. A selection of cigars is in the Backsecklstobe, for advice and issue, please contact the service.

Off our PostBus station you have a direct connection from trainstation Urnäsch to Herisau, St. Gallen, Zürich and direction Appenzell and over trainstation Nesslau to
Wattwil, Wil as well as direction Wildhaus-Rheintal. You find the schedule of the Post-Bus at the entry of the hotel.

If you want to connect your computer, do not unplug the phone. Please contact the réception, where you will receive a network cable with a deposit.

We accept in the whole operation payments in Euro and offer you an advantageous exchange rate. If we have the possibility, you will receive the change in Euro as well. Please note that if you desire to pay by card, your bank will be determining the exchange rate.

Säntis- the hotel and also Mount Säntis are handicapped accessible. All public areas are accessible via elevators at the summit.

In case of an emergency avoid using an elevator! Exit the hotel along the green arrows. Pay attention to the escape plan in your room!
Please study the escape plan at your room door. The meeting point after evacuation is at the cheese factory on the opposite side of the main entry.

Restaurant Säntis – the hotel
Our restaurant offers you a colorful mix between culinary experiences at a cozy atmosphere with typical regional classics of the Appenzellerland and Toggenburg. All our dishes are refined, authentic and of course of highest quality.

On the peak, 2’502m above sea level is the freedom limitless. Just as infinite are the culinary and cultural possibilities. The new restaurant offer plenty of space for events of all kinds. Even in the restaurants on the mount you are able to book consummations on your room to pay when checking out.

Passhöhe restaurant
Our little idyllic Gasthaus Passhöhe down at the pass road lies at 1’280m above sea level. It is in a typical homely Appenzell style.

We sell a variety of vouchers. All vouchers are directly available at our counter or on our website.

You can manually adjust the temperature in your room according to your wish. The heating controller is located on the bottom left at the radiator.

If your pet is accompanying you, we provide therefore special intended rooms. We charge CHF 25.00 per night without food. In a package, which includes the mountain rides, your dog is allowed to go up to the Säntis for free.

You have access to the hotel with your room card outside the opening times. If you ring the bell at the entry by night, you will be forwarded to the reception or the night audit.

Säntis – the hotel is located in the middle of the fascinating nature adventure park. Walk through the history of mysterious moors. Get air in magical forests. Watch rare animals and plants in front of one of the most beautiful natural scenery in Europe. Step by step you will learn more about life and culture in the Alps. The history of the earth, the more than 1000-year tradition of Schwägalp as pastureland, tourism, nature conservation and much more.

There are plenty of outdoor parking spaces available for our guests. The covered parking garage offers 38 spaces. Depending on availability, you can reserve a garage space for CHF 20.00 per night.

You can find an official mailbox of the Swiss post at the stairway to the PostBus next to the counter on the ground floor. It will be emptied from Monday to Saturday in the morning. In our souvenir-shop are postcards and stamps for sale.

If anything is not working properly and reparation is required, please inform the reception.

You find the safe in the wardrobe in your room.

Closing the safe with your personal code:

3. Press „#“
4. The safe locks now automatically. The display says „CLOSED“.

To open the safe:

Our hotel guests benefit from a special price for uphill and downhill journeys of CHF 22.00. Our package deals include an upand downhill journey. During a business interruption of the Säntis suspension railway, be it due to the weather conditions or due to technical interruptions, there is no claim to the up- and downhill journeys. The tickets are only valid during the stay. The timetable of the Säntis cable car can be found in our brochures and on www.saentisbahn.ch or inform yourself at the reception.

In our Souvenir-Shops in the hotel or on the peak, you find typical original products of the Säntis from the Appenzellerland and Toggenburg. Surprise your friends and family with a unique present.

Based on availability, you are allowed to stay longer in your room. Please talk to the reception.
We charge:

• CHF 35.00 per person until 01.00 pm and
• CHF 85.00 per person until 06.00 pm.

Using the room telephone, first dial «0», then the desired country code and the telephone number. We will be happy to connect incoming calls to your room via reception. The telephone costs will be charged directly to your room bill. Internal hotel calls are free of charge

If you wish that we change your towels, please put them into the bathtub or shower. We will leave other towels right where they are –  for the environment.

Do you have something to wash or iron? Our housekeeping team will do that for you. A laundry list and a laundry bag can be found in your wardrobe. Depending on the delivery time, you will receive your laundry as fast as possible.

Enjoy our cozy wellness «Weidwald».
The spa area features a finish- and a bio sauna, a steam bath, a hot tub and sensory showers. The relaxation room with a view of nature offers a unique atmosphere for recreation. From the relaxation room there is the possibility to go directly on the Kneipp path into the fresh alpine air. The bag with the necessary wellness equipment can be found in your room, the bathrobe in the wardrobe. There are no lockers in the spa. We recommend that you deposit valuables in the room or at the reception.
Our wellness area has a nude- and textile zone. The entrance is from 16 years. For hygienic reasons, the spa area may not be entered in casual clothes.

«Together for nature»
The intact natural landscape around the Schwägalp is very close to our heart and we take care of this wherever possible. In many cases, the hotel industry carries out an intermediate cleaning of rooms and washes laundry that is actually in hygienically perfect condition. Therefore valuable drinking water, electricity and a lot of cleaning agent is wasted, which would not be necessary.

Hang the tree on the door if you wish no cleaning of your room. In this way, we can save energy, water and valuable resources together.
With our heart «Please do not disturb» you can enjoy your privacy carefree.

If there is nothin on the door, we will clean your room as usual.
