Spectacular Cable Transport to Schwägalp: The final suspension cables for the new Säntis cable car are being transported to Schwägalp by two semi-trucks.
On September 8, 2026, the second and final cable shipment for the “Säntis 2026” project will arrive at Schwägalp. Two cable reels, each weighing 55.2 metric tons, will be transported from Romanshorn to Schwägalp by the Emil Egger AG using two semi-trucks.
The journey begins early in the morning at 4:55 a.m. in Romanshorn and leads via Urnäsch up to Schwägalp. Arrival is expected around 6:30 a.m. With a bit of luck regarding the weather, it will be an impressive experience at dawn.
The Schwägalp Restaurant will open as early as 6:00 a.m. that morning and will serve coffee and croissants.
