The Gasthaus Passhöhe is a cozy restaurant that serves classic and traditional Swiss cuisine, with regional products and seasonal specialties. It also offers a separate room and a large deck with spectacular sweeping views.

The idyllic Gasthaus Passhöhe restaurant is located at 1,285 meters above sea level. With its homely Appenzell charm, it is a popular meeting place on the Schwägalp pass all year round. Soak up the warm sunny rays out on the spacious terrace, or while away the hours in the rustic and cozy “Arvenstübli” Swiss pine lounge – both with waitstaff. In the kitchen, the Passhöhe team conjures up fresh, traditional specialties that are guaranteed to fill everyone up.

Monday and Tuesday: closed
Mittwoch: 10.00 bis 18.00 Uhr (bei guter Witterung)
Donnerstag: 10.00 bis 18.00 Uhr (bei guter Witterung)
Freitag: 10.00 bis 20.00 Uhr (bei guter Witterung)
Samstag: 10.00 bis 20.00 Uhr
Sonntag: 10.00 bis 18.00 Uhr (bei guter Witterung bereits ab 08.00 Uhr)

We can arrange to open the restaurant for groups of 20 people or more outside our regular opening hours.

Geniessen Sie die klassische Schweizer Küche mit regionalen und saisonalen Spezialitäten im heimeligen Gasthaus. Geniessen Sie im Sommer die Sonnenterrasse bei einem Apéro mit Ausblick auf die Berge und im Winter in der gemütlichen Stube bei einem Heissgetränk und einer Suppe das Gasthaus Passhöhe.

The restaurant has a cozy dining room (seats 50) and the separate rustic “Arvenstübli” Swiss pine lounge (seats 25), plus a serviced sun deck that seats about 100 people.

The rooms are suitable for both individual guests and groups.
